Regency Era Fashion Plates Vol 3

Description

Wall Art Made Easy: Ready to Frame Regency Era Fashion Plates Volume 3 features thirty more beautiful ladies fashion illustrations.

The formal Regency period in the UK dates from 1811 to 1820 when King George III was deemed unfit to rule and his son, the Prince Regent ruled in his stead. The dates for the Regency era however, have long been debated with some arguing that the Regency “feel” started as early as 1783 lasting well into the 1830’s, the “extended” Regency era as it has come to be known.

The Regency Era Fashion Plates series will be focusing on the period from 1799 to 1820 which highlights the Empire style of dress, the Gothic influence and the rise and fall of the waistline in particular.

Inside this volume you will find thirty beautiful illustrations inserted in date order of walking, evening, ball, opera, full, half, promenade, morning and carriage dresses together with headdresses all from two leading British periodicals of the time – Ackermann’s Repository of Arts and La Belle Assemblée.

Each 7” x 10” image is ideal for any Jane Austen fan and can be easily removed from the book by cutting along the line shown on the page.

Suggested Uses:

Apart from their primary use of being framed and displayed in the home or given as the perfect gift, these prints are ideal as a teaching aid within a school environment, or can be used as supporting material in exhibitions.
